name is samaila vangawa, vangawa, CEO models got talent Africa. A seasoned
event personality, a movie producer and TV content provider. I have been in the
industry for 16 years. I Have covered 87 beauty pageant events around Nigeria
and Africa.among which: Miss Peace Ambassador, Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria,
Most Beautiful Girl in Abuja, Miss FCT, Face of Democracy, Miss Democracy, Face
of Unity, Face of Fashion Africa, Face of tourism Nigeria/Ghana face of
culture, United for peace, Miss Aso, Miss Nigeria Entertainment and a Partner to
Most beautiful model in Nigeria and many that I couldn't mention
What is
Model Got Talent in Africa?
Models
got talent Africa Is a platform designed to bring together models from all
parts of Africa in a contest that will produce winners who will be groomed to
make a statement in the modeling industry around the world.
We
know you are doing a good job and more also promoting Fashion lane in Nigeria;
But how did you get over the barrier of Sponsorship?
Sponsorship
especially in Nigeria is an issue, you will reach out to organizations to
sponsor, partner or support a youth empowerment program and all you hear is
stories. They will ask you of previous achievement but still
no commitment. Our target target is insuring that the winners will be able to
showcase and represent
the
brand so that sponsor can see meaning in what we are striving to achieve
What are
the challenges faced during planning of MGT in Africa?
Many
challenges. Especially the contestants because of the act of some dubious event
organizers who sale forms on-line and later run away when
event time comes. They will tell you they won't register and that same issue of
sponsorship. Another challenges are parents and societal perception of modeling
as a prostitution or usurious or Un fruitful venture.
modeling is a professional industry like every other. Depending on how
you take it as individual. We Have models who are richer than some presidents
and Have done more to their countries than some rich people.Challenges during planning
is no other than finance and also getting people to believe in your vision
What gave
you the inspiration towards; MGT
What
inspired me is that in the course of my traveling to cover events I come across
many models who
Due to
specification of most fashion show;
Who can
come for this Audition?
Models
with great talents and are willing to go beyond just runway and I felt the best
way is to create a platform like this for more who have such dreams.
What are
the Expectation and the dream of this project to humanities?
Well,
in everything we do we should forget that we are human, in the cause of writing
the blue print. I thought of the silence cry of Africa children who's voice
could not be heard. Africa is a place where trafficking happens. Children are
trafficked across the borders and within a country from poor rural areas to
urban. Girls are kidnapped to form baby making factory. Others for sex and
street vending. We felt it's time for their voice to be heard. Our
winners aside their tasks will embark on a 52 episodes of TV program
on a campaign against this child trafficking.
What
advise do you have for the Youth, in this present economy set back?
There
is nothing new under the sun. So said scholars, good and bad time cames. But I
wl advice an approach towards being self reliance. We have a lot of business
and skill to acquire while we wait for God to help redirect our economy.
