How It Feels To Be Kissed By Leo
MAGGIE SMITH has admitted that she was "thrilled" to be on the
receiving end of a kiss from Leonardo
DiCaprio at the BAFTA Awards
earlier this month. The veteran actress found herself appearing on
BAFTA's Kiss Cam - where stars were asked to smooch for the
cameras, as they do at many American sporting
events - and, unlike some poor sports, she happily
obliged.

"He did indeed give me a big kiss," the 81-year-old
actress laughed during a radio interview earlier this week. "That was a
thrill for me. A real thrill. I think he is a terrific actor. And
I've been rooting and voting for him since What's Eating
Gilbert Grape. I thought he was so amazing in that when he was
so young."
Although Smith didn't appear to be expecting the kiss, she
laughed and reciprocated - while actors Michael Fassbender and
Alicia Vikander declined to kiss on camera, despite being a real-life
couple.

Smith could certainly offer some advice to DiCaprio ahead of this weekend's
Oscars, having won two Academy Awards in the past while the
actor is still chasing that elusive prize, despite having earned
five nominations in his career. He is by far the favourite to win
on Sunday night when he goes up against Eddie Redmayne and Michael
Fassbender among others for the Best Actor Academy Award.
